My grandfather woke up with this swollen red cord like vein on his arm. It is tender and warm but the urgent care is closed until tomorrow. Should we go to the ER?

about recipes. These are two very different topics, so I want to clarify before proceeding:

Regarding your grandfather’s arm: a swollen, red, tender, and warm vein could indicate thrombophlebitis (a blood clot in a vein) or a serious infection. These can become emergencies if left untreated. Even if urgent care is closed, this does warrant an ER visit today, not waiting until tomorrow. Signs that require immediate attention include:

  • Pain and swelling along the vein
  • Redness and warmth
  • Fever or chills
  • Shortness of breath or chest pain (possible clot migration)

💡 Recommendation: Go to the ER immediately. This is not something to wait on.
